Okay, here's the scoop:
Most of you guys should know by now that Justin is engaged to be married. And of course you should know that the lucky lady is Becky Kalebaugh. -But I guess I should say that Justin is the lucky guy. We are thrilled about this new development (we've actually been throwing up all kinds of hints in order for this to happen). Our family has a whole new respect for Becky, she is the first girl to choose to become a Dortignac since Aunt Nancy married Uncle Mike almost 20 years ago.
They plan to reside in the SoCal area for at least the first five years of their marriage which pleases us greatly. :)
Some of you also know that the Weathers have a new addition to their little family. Little Julia Kate came flying in on March 26th. The delivery was so quick that Nathan ended up playing "midwife".
Nathan and Tiffany live about 20 minutes from us and drop in often. We treasure every moment with them, knowing the time is coming when it will be Nathan's parents' turn to have their grandkids near.
In May most of us drove up to Idaho to visit Mandy and Gabe. We spent a week of fun at their house, coffee shop, and visiting all kinds of sites in Washington and Idaho. It was really nice to be able to spend so much time with them. We really miss having them around.
After a week with Gabe and Mandy we made our way home slowly, stopping in at several friends' houses. Staying in so many places has really inspired Dad who is now spending most of his spare time focusing on the guest room in our new house. Speaking of the new house, it is really coming along. Thanks to Dad, from the outside it now looks more like a house than a construction site. :)
Disclaimer: It's not painted yet, that yellow is just the color of the siding.
Late last year Mom started a children's choir in time to put on a special night of music for Christmas. That worked out alright so she got right back to work, this time putting on a play for Easter, which turned out to be such a huge success. And because of that they are going to do the same play again this Sunday at Villa Colima.
Annie has been spending a lot of time at Uncle Rick's house working on her CD project that she is determined to finish. I've been enjoying the fact that because Dad and Justin have been helping her with it, we get to hear more of her music around the house. :)
All the rest of us have been keeping pretty busy with work, school and other stuff. It's been so hectic that we have even taken a break from Pizza Night for a time. It's sort of weird not having a huge crowd of people at our house every other Friday, but we've been enjoying having more family time.
Alrighty, that's enough for now. Plenty, if you ask me. :) My goal for this summer is to put up at least two new posts WITH pictures each month, so chalk one down for June and if you wanna hear more, then keep watching.
Life here would not be the same without these two.
"Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ:...that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;"- Philippians 1:27
